Anindita has been working with students, teachers, and tutors since 2000. Prior to co-founding The Writing Faculty, she was the Director of Education at Inspirica Tutors, where she began as a one-on-one test prep and academic tutor for middle and high school students. As the education director, she trained tutors and oversaw curriculum development in English and Writing among other subjects.
As a Teaching Fellow in Boston University’s Creative Writing Program, Anindita taught fiction and poetry to undergraduates. She was also a founding faculty member at the Community Charter School of Cambridge, where she taught seventh and eighth grade Humanities and ran a student poetry group.
As a tutor, Anindita has worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds and with varied levels of writing experience, from middle school students with learning differences to undergraduate English majors and graduate students. She specializes in academic writing and admission essays.
Anindita has primarily published in scholarly and reference contexts. She oversaw curriculum development at Inspirica and both edited and wrote materials for them. She is currently working on a young adult novel and contributed to Unbored: The Essential Field Guide to Serious Fun (Bloomsbury, 2012), described by Publisher’s Weekly as “This year’s hottest activity book for kids.”
Anindita tutors students in admission essays, academic writing, fiction, and poetry. Her rate is $150 per hour.
