Nancy began her 20-year career in education as a college English instructor, teaching courses such as Critical Reading, Writing, Developmental Writing, English Composition, and Introduction to Literature. Her undergraduates spanned traditional and non-traditional backgrounds, from four-year to continuing education students.
After seven years of teaching at the college level, Nancy became a high school English teacher, where she wrote curriculum and taught students across grade levels. She taught multiple tracks of Freshman English, from general to honors students. She also taught an interdisciplinary American Studies course to sophomores and AP English to upperclassmen. Nancy launched and advised a high school literary journal, teaching students to act as creative writing editors.
In addition to her extensive school experience, Nancy is a writing instructor for gifted middle school students through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program. She has been tutoring students privately for ten years on college admission essays, expository writing, and literary analysis.
Nancy tutors students in admission essays, academic writing, fiction, and poetry. Her rate is $75 per hour.
